Zuni jewelry before 1930s was generally quite similar to that of the Navajo. Beginning in the 1930s, the Zuni emphasize intricate stone work over intricate silver work, although there certainly were some Zuni silversmiths who did beautiful silver work as well.
This led to the development of "petit point" and "channel work" designs. Petit point consists of multiple small stones forming the basis of design. Channel work refers to tightly laying of stones adjacent to each other, sometimes with silver channels, sometimes without (also referred to as mosaic work).
The dot/dash design of this bracelet from this early period of Zuni petit point is infrequently found, although it is very desirable. The quality of the work, the stones, and the silver all make this a very desirable bracelet to own.
