Degikup represents Marvin Cohodas' comprehensive study of degikup baskets that were woven by Washoe women.  This study resulted in the exhibition "Degikup: Washoe Fancy Basketry 1895-1935" at the Fine Arts Gallery of the Uiversity of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC., August 13-September 20, 1979.

In Degikup, Cohodas tracks the materials, techniques and historical development of degikup baskets by Washoe weavers. He also identifies and attributes baskets made to specific Washoe weavers.

This remains the definitive book on Washoe basketry. It is out of print and very difficult to find.
