NEW ACQUISITIONS (PART 1):
I am excited to have recently acquired two major collections of Pueblo and Hopi pottery: One collection features postwar works by the Matriarchs and other 20th century Master Potters. The other collection features very important Historic Pueblo and Hopi pottery, including 2 pots collected by Stevenson for the Smithsonian. I have also acquired a collection of parfleche bags. These objects are all fresh to the market.
I will be posting frequent blogs featuring some of the individual items but be sure to go to the website frequently to see other additions as they are posted. A second newsletter will follow shortly with more detailed information on the Delaware Show as well as information about some of the Historic pottery that I recently acquired.
A NEW VENTURE:
From October 23-29, my husband, Richard Schillay, and I will be hosting a booth at the INTERNATIONAL SHOW (formerly known as THE INTERNATIONAL FINE ART AND ANTIQUE DEALERS SHOW). We will be presenting a one-person show of ceramic art by Cliff Lee. The show is held at The Park Avenue Armory, 67th and Park Avenue, NYC. The booth number is D7.
Cliff's work is simply exquisite. He is a neurosurgeon who years ago gave up his practice to devote himself solely to his art. His works are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the White House Collection, Yale University Art Museum, the Peabody Essex Museum, and others. THE DELAWARE ANTIQUES SHOW COMING SOON!
Be sure to save the dates, which are November 6-8 with the Opening Night Party on November 5th. It is held at The Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. This show is considered a must go-to show for collectors of American Antiques. Not only is it one of the oldest Americana Shows, it is considered one of the very finest American Antique Shows. My booth will be filled with fresh material -- a tremendous opportunity for collectors. More about what I will be bringing will follow soon.
