Much like the Zuni petit point cocho belt, this pair of earrings is made out of beautiful turquoise and with silver work that was individually-made and applied. These earrings were previously converted from screwbacks to posts.
We have rarely seen double-disc (or concha) drop earrings. This set has a wonderful aesthetic and the high grade turquoise sets them off against the wearer's skin. Earrings such as this are rare to find.
These earrings, the Zuni concho belt (mc2062a) and the Zuni large round pin, were in a collection for many years. It is certainly possible that their owner purchased them at the same time.
