Dorothy Torivio was the artist at Acoma who was first inspired by op art to take a geometric shape and repeat it throughout the pot, expanding and contracting the image as it followed the shape of the pot. Her pottery was made in the traditional manner and her work nears perfection.

Dorothy’s work has inspired other Acoma potters including her niece, Sandra Victorino. Be sure to note new acquisitions of small or miniature examples of Sandra Victorino’s work: http://www.marcyburns.com/pottery-collection/acoma-miniature-seed-jar-by
