Bernice Goodspeed was an American cultural anthropologist who emigrated to Mexico in 1930. She married Carl Pappe, an artist, in 1935 and together they moved to Taxco in 1938, where they opened a studio and gallery. It was at this time that Bernice began to make silver jewelry and tableware.
This small pillbox has a Classic fret design. The frets are raised, having been made with an overlay technique.
