This Navajo child’s blanket is beautifully woven. We are excited to have acquired it from a private collection in which it descended. The design’s major element is one that is very frequently seen in Classic Navajo weavings. With the dislocation of the Navajo after Bosque Redondo, styles changed in order to appeal to the new marketplace but pieces like this were clearly woven by skilled older weavers who had woven Classic blankets.
