Margot van Voorhees Carr was born circa 1897 and died in 1985. Margot emigrated to Taxco, Mexico from the United States in 1937. She met and married Antonio Castillo, from whom she was divorced by 1948. At that point, Margot set up her own taller (workshop) and retail stores (one in Taxco and one in Mexico City) and hired many talented silversmiths and designers. She continued to produce jewelry until 1978.
