San Ildefonso jar by Barbara Gonzales (Tahn Moo Whe - Sunbeam)

$0.01

Barbara Gonzales is the oldest great-grandaughter of Maria and Julian Martinez. She clearly inherited their artistic ability. She learned pottery making from Maria and also from her grandmother, Santana Martinez, starting with traditional black-on-black pottery and later developing her own style of two-tone pottery. She adds her special mark of a spider emellished with a turquoise stone, which she considers a good luck symbol. This particular pot is absolutely stunning in its beauty. Photographs do not adequately capture the quality and proportions of this pot.
