Manta pins were made by the Navajo and Pueblo Indians for their own use in fastening the two panels of their dresses. This manta pin is made of hi-grade turquoise (possibly Blue Gem) and coin silver. It shows wear, as is expected of jewelry made during this early period and used in daily wear. This type and quality of pin is quite rare.
