This polychrome Zuni jar has a beautiful classic design with elements associated with the mid-1870s. There are capped spirals in the main body, alternating with double-ended polychrome scrolls. The upper neckband section also is filled with polychrome designs associated with that era.

Hairline splits, minor chips and spalling are often found on pots of this age. The strong design and use of polychrome make this a very nice example of Zuni pottery in the 1870s.
